Starter Loc Extensions are a customized loc service designed to give length from day one while allowing your natural hair to grow, loc, and develop over time.

Because this is a long-term service—not simply a one-day installation— there are a few important things you need to understand before booking.

Please read this guide in its entirety before your consultation.

 

 

01 | BEFORE YOU BOOK - Is this service right for you?

Starter Loc Extensions require natural hair to support the installation and ongoing maintenance.

During your consultation, your hair will be evaluated based on factors including:

Current length Density
Heat damage Straight ends

Breakage
Thinning or sparse areas
Overall condition of your natural hair

 -Completing a consultation does not guarantee approval for Starter Loc Extensions.

 -If your hair is not a suitable candidate at the time of your consultation, alternative options may be discussed.

02 | YOUR CUSTOM INSTALLATION

Your Starter Loc Extensions are customized based on your natural hair and your desired final look.

During your consultation, we’ll discuss:

• Loc Size

Xsmall, Small, or Smedium

• Parting

Square, Free ($50), Diamond ($75), Triangle ($75)

• Length

10-12 inches, 14-16 inches, 18-20inches

• Color

Custom color may be available depending on your desired look and the condition of your natural hair.

 - Please be ready to share inspiration photos if you have a specific look in mind.

Your final loc size, length, color, and customization will be determined based on what is realistic for your natural hair.

03 | THE INSTALLATION

Plan for a FULL day.
Starter Loc Extension installations can take up to 13 hours. Your exact appointment time will depend on:

Your natural hair length and density, Number and size of locs, Desired length, Color/customization, Installation complexity

 - Please do not schedule other appointments, work obligations, events, or time-sensitive plans immediately afterward.

You are welcome to bring:

• Phone charger

• Headphones

• Tablet/laptop

• Entertainment

This is a long appointment, so come prepared to hang out!

04 | YOUR MAINTENANCE JOURNEY

The installation is only the beginning.

Starter Loc Extensions require ongoing maintenance.

Maintenance is an essential part of your extension journey and is required for clients who receive Starter Loc Extensions from Loc Majesty.

05 | MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENTS

$400 per appointment

Maintenance appointments are approximately 4–5 hours.

These appointments are significantly more detailed than a standard retwist because your extensions require specialized maintenance to support their continued development and appearance.

Important:

Starter Loc Extension maintenance is NOT the same as a regular retwist.

If you received Starter Loc Extensions from Loc Majesty, please do not book a standard Retwist & Style appointment.

You must book the designated:

06 | WHY MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED

Your maintenance appointments allow us to:

• Maintain the foundation of your locs

• Address new growth

• Maintain the connection between your natural hair and extensions Reinforce areas that need additional attention

• Monitor the development of your locs

• Address concerns before they become larger issues

• Help your extensions transition as your natural hair grows

• Skipping or delaying maintenance can affect the appearance, integrity, and longevity of your extensions.

If you know that you cannot commit to regular maintenance appointments, Starter Loc Extensions may not be the right service for you at this time.

07 | BOOKING YOUR INSTALLATION

Your consultation does not automatically reserve an installation date.

After your consultation, if you are approved and decide to move forward, you will receive instructions for booking your installation.

Installation Deposit
A 25% deposit is required to reserve your installation appointment.

Your remaining balance will be due immediately after service is complete via cash or card/tap.

Installation appointments are scheduled based on availability.

08 | PLANNING AHEAD

Loc Majesty’s books open on the 15th of every month

If your desired installation month is not currently open, you may request to be added to the priority list for that month.

Once the month opens, you will receive priority booking access.

09 | HAIR & CUSTOMIZATION

Because Starter Loc Extensions are customized to each client, hair is ordered based on your approved installation specifications.

Once your installation is booked and your deposit has been received, your hair order will be prepared.

Please understand that customized hair orders may require additional processing and shipping time.

Your installation cannot be moved forward simply because the appointment date is approaching if required materials have not arrived.

10 | YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Getting Starter Loc Extensions is a commitment between you and your stylist.

To get the best experience possible, you are responsible for:

Before Installation-

• Following all preparation instructions

• Arriving with clean hair

• Communicating any changes to your hair before your appointment

• Allowing enough time for your full installation

After Installation-

• Following your aftercare instructions

• Attending required maintenance appointments Communicating concerns promptly

• Following your recommended maintenance schedule

• Booking the correct appointment type

• Arriving on time

• Planning ahead for future maintenance appointments

11 | WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOUR INSTALLATION?

Once your installation is complete, your loc journey continues.

Before you leave your installation appointment, we’ll discuss your maintenance timeline and what to expect as your natural hair and extensions begin to develop together.

Your first maintenance appointment should be scheduled approximately 4–6 weeks after installation.

From there, your maintenance schedule will continue approximately every 6–8 weeks.

The goal is not simply to maintain the appearance of your extensions. The goal is to support your transition into your natural loc journey.

 - How long does the installation take?

Your installation can take up to 13 hours depending on your hair and desired customization.

 - Can I bring food?

Absolutely. You are welcome to bring snacks, drinks, and a meal. Because this is a long appointment, please come prepared.

 - Can I choose my loc size?

Yes. Your desired loc size will be discussed during your consultation and finalized based on your natural hair and desired result.

 - Can I choose my parting?

Yes. We will discuss your preferred parting style during your consultation.

 - Can I add color?

Custom color is available. Color requests should be discussed during your consultation so we can determine what is possible for your desired look.

 - How often do I need maintenance?

Your first maintenance appointment is typically 4–6 weeks after installation. Subsequent appointments are typically scheduled every 6–8 weeks.

 - How much is the maintenance appointment ?

Starter Loc Extension maintenance is currently $400 per appointment.

 - How long is the maintenance appointment ?

Approximately 4–5 hours.

 - Can I book a regular retwist after getting extensions?

No.

Starter Loc Extension clients must book the designated Starter Loc Extension Maintenance service.

 - What happens if I skip maintenance?

Skipping or significantly delaying maintenance can affect the condition and development of your extensions. Your maintenance schedule is an important part of the service.

 - Do I have to complete all five maintenance appointments?

Starter Loc Extension clients are required to participate in the maintenance process. The number and timing of appointments needed may vary based on the development and condition of your locs.

 - Can I get extensions installed and maintain them somewhere else?

Starter Loc Extensions installed by Loc Majesty are designed to be maintained as part of the Loc Majesty extension journey. If you choose to receive maintenance elsewhere, Loc Majesty cannot guarantee the condition or longevity of the installation, as not many locticians know the technique and strategy used to maintain these extensions.
